Few instruments are as celebrated as the piano. It is the channel through which great composers have lavished some of their most exalted music, and it continues to delight and intrigue musicians and audiences today.

Again this year, you can choose our Super Subscriber Series. This Series offers admission to all 20 concert events and boasts an even greater savings over single tickets. The Super Series includes: All 11 season concerts, including the holiday performance and Jeans ’N Classics, all 6 Chamber concerts and all 4 Youth Orchestra concerts.

	OCT. 3, 2009 - 8:00 PM ADAM GOLKA, PIANO Sponsored by SD Symphony League Adam Golka, 2009 Max I. Allen Classical Fellow, is one of today's most promising young pianists. 	OCT. 31, 2009 - 8:00 PM NOV. 1, 2009 - 2:30 PM ANGELINA GADELIYA, PIANO Stage Fright: A Scary Music Night Sponsored by SDN Communications Children and adults of all ages are invited to arrive in costume for this trick-or-treat suite. The orchestra will feature music from the Harry Potter films, along with Sioux Falls native and former South Dakota Symphony member Angelina Gadeliya playing Liszt's spooky composition, Totentanz. Repertoire: Dukas - Sorcerer's Apprentice Dance Macabre, played by Doosook Kim Liszt - Totentanz

	NOV. 21, 2009 - 8:00 PM MAGDALENA MODZELEWSKA, VIOLIN ZARINA STEPANOVA, PIANO Sponsored by Raven Industries Magdalena Modzelewska, second principal violinist, performs with the percussion section in Lou Harrison's Suite for Violin and American Gamelan, while Zarina Stepanova, a Sioux Falls native and graduate of the Eastman School of Music, showcases the music of Mozart. Repertoire: Harrison - Suite for Violin and American Gamelan Mozart - Piano Concerto No. 15 .

	DEC. 11 & 12, 2009 - 8:00 PM DEC. 13, 2009 - 2:30 PM HOLIDAY POPS CONCERT A Nutcracker Collage Sponsored by Midcontinent Communications, Home Federal Bank, The Empire Mall, Great Plains Brockerage and Gil Haugan Construction Inc. The Symphony returns for an annual favorite, a holiday pops concert featuring selections from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker, along with everyone's season favorites.

	JAN. 16, 2010 - 8:00 PM SAMUEL RAMEY: BASS-BARITONE A Date with the Devil Sponsored by RBC Wealth Management Samuel Ramey, the foremost interpreter of bass-baritone operatic repertoire in the world, joins the Symphony to perform his sell-out concert, A Date with the Devil.

	FEB. 6, 2010 - 8:00 PM FEB. 7, 2010 - 2:30 PM ANNUAL MAHLER CELEBRATION Sponsored by Koch Hazard Architects, Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., Swift Contractors and The Market on Phillips Continuing its annual Mahler festival, the South Dakota Symphony presents Symphony No. 5, one of Gustav Mahler's best-known and most loved works. . 	FEB. 27, 2010 - 8:00 PM EMANUELE ARCIULI, PIANO Innovative performer and recording artist Emanuele Arciuli joins the SDSO to perform works by American composer Michael Daugherty and Stravinsky's Firebird Suite. . 	MAR. 6, 2010 - 8:00 PM DAVID BIXLER, SAXOPHONE HEATHER BIXLER, IRISH FIDDLE Sponsored by Sanford Health Jazz saxophonist David Bixler joins the Symphony to perform his own concerto for saxophone and orchestra. His wife, former SDSO concertmaster Heather Bixler, will also play a concert for Irish fiddle and orchestra composed especially for her. 	MAY 1, 2010 - 8:00 PM MAY 2, 2010 - 2:30 PM PAUL SANCHEZ, PIANO After performing throughout the U.S., Germany and Spain, Sioux Falls native Paul Sanchez returns to play a concerto for piano and orchestra by Spanish composer Joaquin Rodrigo.
