The SDSO is a dynamic regional orchestra of 80 professional musicians that performs in the acoustically superb Mary W. Sommervold Hall of the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The orchestra’s season consists of 7 Classical concerts, 4 Pops concerts, 3 Chamber concerts, family and educational concerts, special programs (Lakota Music Project and Music as Medicine), and regional tours. The SDSO enjoys a growing audience and enthusiastic community support. Concerts are broadcast on South Dakota Public Radio.


Administrative Positions:

Development Assistant

The South Dakota Symphony Orchestra (SDSO) seeks an exceptional individual for the full‐time position of Development Assistant.  The Development Assistant serves as an integral part of the organization’s team and will work directly with all SDSO staff and board of directors to enhance the symphony’s operations and fundraising capacity. The position entails fundraising administration, database management, office coordination, and events work and is ideal for a motivated, team player with the ability to multitask within a fast‐paced work environment. The Development Assistant reports to the Assistant Director of Development.
