Darci Gamerl performs internationally as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician. She is currently solo English horn with the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra and South Dakota Symphony Orchestra as well as second oboist with the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra. In addition to regular chamber work, Gamerl has solo appearances in the U.S.A. and Canada.
Gamerl has her Master of Music from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, a bachelor of music from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and most recently, an Artist Diploma from the Chicago Conservatory of Performing Arts (Roosevelt). She has a passion for historical performance practice, performing with the Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute, the Bach Festival, the Omaha Chamber Music Society and Omaha Baroque.
She is currently a Lecturer in Oboe at Creighton University, instructor of oboe at College of St. Mary and the University of Nebraska-Omaha and a founding member of I, the Siren, ensemble in residence at UNO. I, the Siren actively commissions new, cutting edge works, concertizes throughout North America, and gives workshops on chamber music collaboration and the music business to aspiring high school and college students.
