The SDSO’s annual tradition of semi-staged opera continues with this staple of the opera repertoire, considered by many to be the greatest opera ever composed. Mozart’s thrilling tale of the gallant Don Giovanni, his philandering, and ultimate downfall is filled with comedy, intrigue and, well . . . Hell.

DON GIOVANNI Director’s Tour

Exclusive for Overture Members

The South Dakota Symphony Orchestra invites Overture members and their guests to the Don Giovanni Director’s Tour after the January 28 evening concert! Join us for this exclusive event to get a backstage look at this season’s opera!

During the Director’s Tour, stage director Maria Todaro will provide Overture members with a behind-the-scenes tour of the Mary W. Sommervold Hall where you will take part in a Q&A with Maria as she shares her process for staging an opera. You are also invited to a post-concert reception with light hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Chat one-on-one with members of the SDSO family and Overture! Location of the post-concert reception TBD.

Overture is the premier group for young professionals between the ages of 21 and 40 to come together around a shared love of music. Overture members will enjoy incredible SDSO concerts, meet new people at unique networking events, and experience a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra for just $8 per month.
