Delta David Gier, conductor
South Dakota Symphony Chorus
Freeman Swiss Choral Society

EVENT OVERVIEW:

Beethoven              Fidelio

Opening night at the symphony honors Beethoven’s 250th anniversary with his only opera. Fidelio takes us through strife and salvation as we follow heroine, Leonore, in her quest to liberate her husband from a political prison. This concert also honors the centennial of the 19th amendment with Leonore as an ideal representative of the heroic suffragists who fought for women’s right to vote.
