SPECIAL EVENTS FOR ALL AGES

Throughout the year, the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra will host events that support and enhance the vision of orchestral music in our community. These events could include special concert performances, artist receptions, guest conductors, charity events or educational opportunities.

SYMPHONY GALA
on stage at the Washington Pavilion

The Gala was another huge success. All tables sold out and 330 people enjoyed an evening of dining, shopping and dancing. The SDSO made a record net of $114,000. Those funds are essential to keeping our concert series and education programs alive and well. Thank you for supporting our largest fundraising event!

FAMILY CONCERT
Great Hall at the Washington Pavilion — Sponsored by Xcel Energy, the Washington Pavilion of Arts and Sciences, Citigroup and Lodgenet Entertainment Corporation.

The family concert will delight and entertain children of all ages with this performance of Peter and the Wolf. Jon Deak, bassist in the New York Philharmonic, will also present two of his original compositions: Jack and the Beanstalk and The Headless Horseman. Join Orchestra members after the concert for the Musical Instrument Petting Zoo, where kids can touch and play a variety of musical instruments.
