Season Calendar

We’re excited to invite you to the 2022-23 season! We usher in the dawn of our next century bringing great music to the great people of South Dakota! The 101st season features inspiring works for chorus and orchestra including Mozart’s haunting final masterpiece Requiem and Beethoven’s 9th “Ode to Joy”, plus symphonies of Brahms and Sibelius, Ravel’s Bolero, and music from Sci-Fi movies and television shows.  Guest artists include award-winning pianists Conrad Tao and Orion Weiss, Minnesota Orchestra Assistant Concertmaster Rui Du, Sioux Falls own jazz singer Luke Carlsen and the SDSO’s Principal Viola Yi-Chun Lin! The music this season contains great imagination and depth of spirit, including a world premiere from composer Niloufar Iravani. There are programs which continue to incorporate the wide range of cultures represented in our city and state, and create space for understanding and community-building.  Of course, each program will display the thrilling virtuosity of the musicians and artistic partners.
