The South Dakota Symphony Chorus

chorus-holidaycollage_web

The South Dakota Symphony Chorus is the official vocal ensemble of the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra. As an all-volunteer chorus, they are committed to the rehearsal and performance of the greatest master works of the choral and opera genres. Their season traditionally consists of annual presentations of the popular Holiday Collage Christmas concerts and Handel’s Messiah. Spring typically finds the chorus preparing an opera along with a major work for orchestra and chorus. This past season was Bach’s St. Matthew Passion.

AUDITION DATES FOR THE SYMPHONY CHORUS 2022-2023 SEASON:
August 13-16 and August 29 at Augustana University

TO AUDITION:

Auditions for the 2022-23 season are required for all returning members who did not audition last season as well as all new members.

COVID protocols are currently under review by the SDSO.  These will be determined later in September and communicated prior to the first rehearsal.  We encourage all interested singers to audition in the meantime.  Should there be a conflict with the COVID policy, everyone will be able to assess their own scenario prior to the season beginning.  The Symphony Chorus looks for members with a strong work ethic and musical background as well as a joyful spirit of collaboration.
