Jason Rygg

Jason Rygg has served as Assistant Principal Horn of the South Dakota Symphony for 20+ years. He has performed with the Dakota Wind Quintet and often performs with the Sioux City Symphony.

Rygg is a proud teacher in the Sioux Falls School District, having taught beginning orchestras and bands at all levels. Rygg is currently the Director of Bands at George McGovern Middle School, as well as Renberg and Hayward Elementary schools. In 2016, Rygg started the Sioux Falls Middle School All-City Honor Band, which performs in November in conjunction with the Augustana University Band Festival. 

Rygg is in high demand as a clinician and adjudicator. He has conducted middle school honor bands in South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Tennessee. Rygg has also been proudly involved with the International Music Camp for over 25 years, teaching horn and conducting middle school bands. He is a member of South Dakota Bandmasters Association, National Association for Music Education, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
