Julia (Yesol) Bae

Julia (Yesol) Bae began playing the violin at the age of eight and continued her musical studies in South Korea, earning a bachelor’s degree and completing her first master’s degree under the guidance of Kwang-Kun Kim. She earned a second master’s degree from the Boston Conservatory and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Minnesota, studying with Stephanie Arado as a recipient of the Harvey Berneking Scholarship.

Ms. Bae joined the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra in 2023 and has been performing with the ensemble as a violinist. She has also been a member of the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra since 2024. In addition to her performing career, she maintains an active teaching practice, drawing on her own experiences as a violinist to guide students through technical challenges with care and clarity.
